BFS seeks investment funds from across the broad spectrum of the Baptist denomination enabling the provision of loans to support the development of Christian ministry, working with local churches, associated ministries and denominational bodies as appropriate. This has proven to be a wonderful encouragement to many Christian ministries that find it difficult to resource and fund their operations, let alone develop and expand them. Additionally, BFS seeks to provide support and understanding to churches and organisations that are looking for financial solutions in a complex commercial environment.
BFS actively contributes a portion of its annual surplus to participating State Baptist Unions for their wider ministry.
